Your new role

The Highways Designer will join the team based in Manchester providing support on the recently awarded 6-year major projects framework, working on regeneration, public realm, and transformation projects. Work is already ramping up with several multi-million-pound projects in the pipeline, delivering schemes to boost walking and cycling across the city’s busiest roads.

Your core responsibilities

 

  • Prepare, design, plan, programme and order works and services
  • Assist in the management and monitoring of works programmes or services
  • Working with the design team to meets client’s requirements in a quick and accurate manner
  • Provide assistance to the Team Leader or Senior Engineer in relation to all aspects covered within the group and deputise in their absence. 
  • Ensure strong budgetary control and financial management is undertaken throughout areas of responsibility.

What you’ll bring to the table

 

  • Degree (Engineering or BSc) or equivalent experience
  • Experience in highway engineering and relevant design work
  • Understanding of asset management and works programming
  • Prince 2 experience is advantageous
  • Knowledge of H&S legislation and CDM Regulations
