Are you a design professional with a contractor background, ready to take the next step in your career? We’re looking for an Assistant Design Manager to join our growing team, supporting the delivery of high-profile infrastructure projects across the Midlands and North.
In this role, you’ll assist in managing the design elements of highways, public realm, and structures schemes. Working closely with consultants and internal teams, you’ll help identify design challenges early and support the development of practical, buildable solutions aligned with construction methodology and programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate design activities across multiple infrastructure projects
Review and interpret technical drawings, identifying risks and opportunities
Liaise with external design consultants to ensure timely delivery of design packages
Support the Design Manager and work collaboratively with the Assistant Information Manager
Contribute to the ongoing development of design management processes and team capability
Strong design background, ideally gained within a contractor environment
Confident interpreting drawings and managing design consultants
Good understanding of construction methods and infrastructure project delivery
Degree qualified (preferred) or able to demonstrate significant relevant experience
Full UK driving licence
