Working in the 24hr London Control Centre, you will be responsible for providing support for a number of London contracts with a major client. Operating an incident response service and being a single point of contact, you will be working in a shift pattern of 12 hours (7.30pm – 7.30am), 4 days on and 4 days off.

Your new role

Working in the 24hr London Control Centre, you will be responsible for providing support for a number of London contracts with a major client. Operating an incident response service and being a single point of contact, you will be working in a shift pattern of 12 hours (7.30pm – 7.30am), 4 days on and 4 days off.

In short you will

  • Deploy and manage resources at incidents on the Network

  • Maintain contact with the London Traffic Control Centre during an incident

  • Pass relevant information to the client where necessary

  • Input incident data on to a computer database

  • Prioritise incoming calls/demands and make appropriate decisions

  • Ensure awareness of and compliance with the Health and Safety Procedures Manual

  • Populate spreadsheets in support of daily report requirements

  • Monitor Incident Support Unit whereabouts

  • Act as a first point of contact for the Business and be responsible for ensuring that the appropriate course of action is always taken

About you

The successful applicant will be an individual who is experienced working under pressure whilst multitasking. As this role requires long night shifts, you must be able to work under own instruction, as well as being able to fit into a team.

The ideal candidate will tick the below

  • Have previous control room experience (desirable)

  • Equipped to interpret geographical information using GIS tools

  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and verbally

  • Capable of changing and adapting at short notice

  • Experience managing and prioritising your own work load

  • Have excellent computer skills and knowledge in the use of Microsoft products
