As a Trainee Supervisor, you will support the delivery of highway improvement and maintenance schemes while developing your supervisory and technical knowledge. Working under the guidance of an apprentice supervisor, you will assist in coordinating site activities to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.
This is a development role designed to provide practical experience in highways operations, traffic management, contractor coordination, and site documentation, with a clear progression pathway into a Supervisory position.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in coordinating day-to-day site activities across highway schemes.
Support the implementation of work programmes and report progress to senior supervisors.
Maintain accurate daily site records, including photographs, labour, plant, and materials.
Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and health & safety requirements.
Support the resolution of site issues, escalating concerns appropriately.
Assist with inspections of Traffic Management layouts and report any defects or non-compliance.
Contribute to maintaining a safe working environment and promoting good site practices.
